View file: Community Collaboration for School Innovation Toolkit
The Community Collaboration for School Innovation toolkit helps districts shift away from a community engagement model that centers on pushing information out, to a new community collaboration model that pulls guidance and directives from the community. The free guide includes real-world case studies from Colorado school districts, video tutorials, and templates, and aims to accelerate school improvement efforts that authentically reflect community priorities.
The Toolkit was developed through a partnership among the Colorado Department of Education, The Colorado Education Initiative, and The Learning Accelerator in order to helps school districts understand the importance of community collaboration as a key to innovation. The community collaboration framework provides a process for districts to clearly understand what the local community expects of its schools, so it can then align activities and initiatives.
Although not specific to school restart initiatives, the tools, videos, and templates included in this Toolkit are directly applicable to the community engagement strategies described in the restart process guide.
