View Resource: Colorado Turnaround School Accountability
This policy document outlines how schools and districts are designated for turnaround status in Colorado and what happens if they remain in turnaround status for several years. The document is part of the broader statewide accountability system that identifies appropriate interventions for schools in the bottom 5% and bottom 10% in terms of performance. The document was developed to help explain how accountability works in the year that the state transitioned to a new statewide assessment (PARCC). This type of statewide accountability process often underpins the work of the local authorizer in closing and restarting low performing schools.
