View Resource: 2015-16 PMF Policy Tech Guide
This guide to the Performance Management Framework (PMF) was created by the DC Public Charter School Board “so that school leaders, data managers, families, and other stakeholders would understand how each PMF score was calculated, which measures are used, and how these measures are weighed to form a score.” The guide walks through the indicators and score calculations that are used at different grade levels and/or school types (e.g., Elementary, High School, Adult Education, Alternative Education).
Outcomes & Lessons Learned: The DC PCSB has issued annual reports on charter schools since inception in 1999. The current Performance Management Framework system was rolled out around 2011 with a batch of reports that included a new approach to tiering and scoring schools. The PMF has been recognized as a strong public accountability system that brings transparency and clarity to the charter quality review process and facilitates clear decision-making about school interventions including potential closure and restart.
