View Resource: Core Performance Framework and Guidance
To assist authorizers in developing high-quality Academic, Financial, and Organizational Performance Frameworks, NACSA developed the Core Performance Framework, which includes frameworks for each area of performance that authorizers can customize to meet their local needs and context. NACSA also provides guidance on how to modify the frameworks in ways that allow for local customization without compromising rigor or utility.
The frameworks are aligned with and designed to support the three core principles of charter school authorizing— maintaining high standards, upholding school autonomy, and protecting student and public interests. Each of the three frameworks relates to a distinct area of performance, but each is intended to be used together as a single evaluation tool. Monitoring and evaluation of all three of these areas are essential to effective charter school performance management. When joined together, the Academic, Financial, and Organizational Performance Frameworks form a single, comprehensive school Performance Framework.
